The Gasthof Hochsteg is situated in the holiday region of Tux/Finkenberg, Mayrhofen - Hippach at the end of the Zillertal Valley, in the heart of the Austrian Tyrol.

Interesting guided walks covering the most diverse themes are held regularly in the Zillertaler Alpine Nature Park and, after a hard day in the mountains, why not spend your evenings relaxing at one of the many varied events held in and around the area?
In winter the irresistibly challenging Vans Penken Park, one of the largest snowboarder and freestyle Fun Parks in Europe, has evolved into a real Mecca for riders and freestylers. Not only that, there are 157km of perfectly prepared pistes, with 48 state of the art lift systems on hand for alpine enthusiasts and plenty of mountain huts in the area offering welcome refreshment.
Furthermore, the Glacier is easily accessible either by ski bus, or using the interconnecting lift system from the Penken ski region, where 86km of well groomed pistes and numerous après ski bars as well as welcoming mountain huts, including the Gletscherhütte, provide the perfect ambience for an extraordinary ski experience!
In autumn, revel in the first powder of the season at the Hintertuxer Glacier, where an exciting pre-winter atmosphere and great ski conditions can be enjoyed by skiers and boarders. We’re sure your alpine experience at the glacier will be a memorable experience where you can join probably the “Highest party in the world” at the JJ-One bar. Down in the valley there are a myriad of well marked foot and cycle paths where you can explore the amazing surroundings at lower altitudes. Alternatively, the fairly level Ziller Promenade running parallel to the Ziller River is ideal for a light stroll or easy cycling. For those who fancy doing absolutely nothing, there are welcoming sun terraces at the Gasthof Hochsteg where you can bask in the autumn sunshine.
